BEAUTY CREW: THE WASH

Beauty Crew's Isobel Larkin introduces The Wash.

Last year, Australian model/influencer Elle Ferguson created quite a stir when she launched her Elle Effect tanning line. Now, the Aussie beauty has added a new product to the range: Elle Effect The Wash.

Introducing The Wash and The Exfoliating Mitt by #elleeffect. 12 months in the making, this hard-working duo is designed to gently but effectively assist in the removal of tan build up so your next tan application will be smooth and streakfree. Available exclusively at www.elleeffect.com #elleeffect

BEAUTYcrew caught up with Elle about the launch.

“As you know, I LOVE to self-tan (hence why The Tan by Elle Effect was created) but what I found was there was a gap in the market for a tan remover that acted like a body cleanser and also gently removed self-tan. The Wash by Elle Effect was born from the need of a body wash that could also assist in the removal of self-tan,” says Elle.

Unlike other tan-removing cleansers which often contain harsh exfoliating ingredients, Elle Effect The Wash is formulated with nourishing oils and a gentle exfoliant to hydrate while sloughing away dead skin cells.

“During the process of creating The Wash I also went into the development of the Elle Effect Exfoliating Mitt which is a premium body-smoothing glove that effectively removes tan build-up without irritating or sensitising the skin. When The Wash and Exfoliating Mitt are used together they perfectly prep the skin for the best self-tan application,” says Elle.

Although these days, Elle is known for her flawless bronzed skin, like the rest of us, she's also experienced a less-than-ideal fake-tanning experience:

“My boss pulled me into an office at work and said ‘there’s something very strange happening behind your knees.’ I looked in the mirror and all the tan had come off behind my knees and I had white patches. Safe to say I ran home and scrubbed and scrubbed to get it off. I then wore pants for the rest of the week.”
